Subject: Job at Leeds
To: Matthew Daws <m.d.p.daws at leeds.ac.uk>

Dear colleagues,

There is a permanent job available at Leeds, in any area of pure
mathematics. I, for obvious reasons, would be very keen to attract
well-qualified candidates in Functional Analysis.

The job comes from teaching related money, and so you will see from
the advert that teaching is highlighted. However, this is _not_ a
teaching-only position: "The teaching workload, and time available for
research will, however, be normal for this grade." Informally, I
understand that the department is keen to hire an excellent
mathematician who is good at teaching (but nothing more than "good" is
required; but anything less than "good" will not be a hire).
Obviously candidates should bear the teaching component in mind when
making an application.

I wonder if you could bring this to the attention of anyone who might
be interested. If you know the names of particular people whom I
might be able to approach individually, then also please do let me
know.
