There is a permanent job available at Leeds, in any area of pure<br>
mathematics. I, for obvious reasons, would be very keen to attract<br>
well-qualified candidates in Functional Analysis.<br>

The job comes from teaching related money, and so you will see from<br>
the advert that teaching is highlighted. However, this is _not_ a<br>
teaching-only position: "The teaching workload, and time available for<br>
research will, however, be normal for this grade." Informally, I<br>
understand that the department is keen to hire an excellent<br>
mathematician who is good at teaching (but nothing more than "good" is<br>
required; but anything less than "good" will not be a hire).<br>
Obviously candidates should bear the teaching component in mind when<br>
making an application.<br>

I wonder if you could bring this to the attention of anyone who might<br>
be interested. If you know the names of particular people whom I<br>
might be able to approach individually, then also please do let me<br>
know.<br>
