Professeure ou Professeur en statistique

L'Université de Sherbrooke sollicite des candidatures afin de pourvoir  
à un poste de professeure ou de professeur en statistique au  
Département de mathématiques de la Faculté des sciences. Il s'agit  
d'un poste régulier à temps complet au Campus principal de Sherbrooke.

Fonctions
- Enseignement aux premier, deuxième et troisième cycles.
- Recherche.
- Encadrement d'étudiantes et d'étudiants aux 2e et 3e cycles.
- Participation à la vie universitaire.
- Service à la collectivité.

Exigences
Détenir un doctorat en statistique ou en mathématiques.
Démontrer d'excellentes aptitudes en recherche.
Posséder de solides compétences pédagogiques et manifester un vif  
intérêt pour l'enseignement aux trois cycles d'études universitaires.
Le domaine de spécialisation recherchée est la statistique.
Une capacité et une volonté d'interaction avec les statisticiens en  
poste au département sont hautement souhaitables.
Une expertise en biostatistique constituerait un atout.
La capacité d'enseigner en français ou d'atteindre cette capacité rapidement.


Les conditions de travail sont régies par les conventions collectives  
en vigueur.

PROFESSOR OF STATISTICS

The University of Sherbrooke invites applications for a tenure-track  
postition as a full-time professor in the Department of Mathematics of  
the Faculty of Science.

Duties
- Teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Carry out independent research.
- Supervise both master's and doctoral students.
- Participate in service-related activities.
- Contribute to the life of the community at large.

Requirements
Ph.D. in Statistics or Mathematics.
Demonstrate excellent research skills.
Possess strong teaching skills and a strong interest in teaching both  
at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
The area of specialization sought after is Statistics
The ability and willingness to interact with statisticians in the  
Department of Mathematics is highly desirable.
An expertise in Biostatistics would be an asset.
The ability to teach in French or to rapidly achieve this ability.


The working conditions are governed by the collective agreements in force.
