*Montréal, le 10 juillet 2019*. - Le Centre de recherches mathématiques 
(CRM) de l’Université de Montréal est fier d’annoncer la création du 
Fonds de dotation Robert Langlands. Ce fonds permettra de financer des 
activités du CRM favorisant l’usage de la langue française. Ces 
activités comprennent notamment la formation et la recherche en 
mathématiques au Québec et au Canada.

Un capital initial a été remis par l’Académie norvégienne des sciences 
et des lettres et sera bonifié grâce à des dons de sources diverses 
ainsi que de personnes intéressées à l’atteinte des objectifs du Fonds.

Un Comité d’attribution du Fonds pourra financer des projets qui visent 
à encourager l’usage de la langue française dans les conférences, 
l’enseignement et l’édition de travaux portant sur la recherche en 
mathématiques., conformément au désir du donateur Robert Langlands.

Nous invitons les personnes qui ont des idées de projets à nous 
contacter dès que possible.

Le Centre de recherches mathématiques est le plus grand centre de 
recherche du Québec et un des plus importants centres de recherches en 
mathématiques au monde. Fondé en 1968, à l’Université de Montréal, le 
CRM regroupe les forces vives en mathématiques des universités 
québécoises et d’autres universités canadiennes. Il organise des 
activités auxquelles participent des mathématiciens provenant de tous 
les horizons et des quatre coins du globe.

*Creation of the Endowment Fund**Robert Langlands*

*Montréal, July 10, 2019.*-The Centre de recherches mathématiques (CRM) 
of the Université de Montréal is proud to announce the creation of the 
Robert Langlands Endowment Fund. This fund will finance CRM activities 
promoting the use of the French language. These activities include 
training and research in mathematics in Quebec and Canada.

Initial capital has been provided by the Norwegian Academy of Science 
and Letters and will be enhanced through donations from various sources 
as well as individuals interested in achieving the objectives of the Fund.

A Fund Allocation Committee will be able to fund projects that encourage 
the use of the French language in conferences, teaching and publishing 
work on mathematical research, in accordance with the wishes of the 
donor Robert Langlands .

We invite people with project ideas to contact us as soon as possible.

The Centre de recherches mathématiques is the largest research center in 
Quebec and one of the largest mathematical research centers in the 
world. Founded in 1968, at the Université de Montréal, CRM brings 
together the vital forces in mathematics of Quebec universities and
