      CRM-ISM POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS 2018-2019

The Centre de recherches mathématiques (CRM) and the Institut des
sciences mathématiques (ISM) invite applications for their joint
postdoctoral fellowship program starting in September 2018.

CRM-ISM postdoctoral fellowships are awarded to promising researchers
who have obtained a Ph.D. in the mathematical sciences after May 1st,
2014. The fellowship offers an annual stipend of at least $40,000 CAD
for one year, and is renewable for a second year. Furthermore, an annual
amount of $1,000 CAD in research funds will be made available to cover
participation costs in conferences. This is a research fellowship
allowing the recipient to devote most of his or her time to research
under the supervision of a professor from one of the ISM member
universities. If fellows wish to teach, they may request to be offered
teaching assignments for which they will receive an additional salary.

Applications are welcome in all fields of research in which the CRM and
the ISM are actively involved, namely: actuarial and financial
mathematics, algebra and number theory, analysis, applied mathematics,
category theory, combinatorics, geometry and topology, mathematical
methods in medical imaging, mathematical physics, nonlinear dynamics,
probability, quantum computing and statistics.

The CRM is a national research center in the mathematical sciences. It
includes thirteen research laboratories, and every year it organizes a
wide range of events attracting participants from around the world.

The ISM is a consortium composed of nine Québec universities (Concordia
University, HEC Montréal, Laval University, McGill University,
Université de Montréal, UQAM, UQTR, Université de Sherbrooke and
Bishop's University) for training and collaboration in the mathematical
sciences.

*Eligibility Requirements *

To be eligible for a CRM-ISM postdoctoral fellowship, researchers must
have obtained a Ph.D. after May 1st, 2014. Priority will be given to
candidates who have obtained their Ph.D. in the three years preceding
their application date.

Please note that while it is not an eligibility requirement, preference
will be given to candidates who are not currently registered at one of
the ISM member universities.

Le Centre de recherches mathématiques (CRM) et l'Institut des sciences
mathématiques (ISM) sollicitent des candidatures dans le cadre de leur
programme conjoint de bourses postdoctorales débutant en septembre 2018.

La bourse postdoctorale CRM-ISM s'adresse à des chercheurs prometteurs
ayant obtenu leur doctorat en mathématiques après le 1er mai 2014. La
bourse offre une rémunération d'au moins 40 000$ CAN pour un an,
renouvelable pour une deuxième année. De plus, un montant annuel de 1
000$ CAN en fonds de recherche sera disponible pour couvrir les frais de
participation à des conférences. Cette bourse de recherche permettra à
son bénéficiaire de consacrer la majeure partie de son temps à ses
travaux de recherche sous la supervision d'un professeur appartenant à
l'une des universités membres de l'ISM. Si le boursier le désire, il
pourra enseigner durant son stage et ainsi recevoir une rémunération
supplémentaire.

Nous acceptons des demandes dans tous les domaines de recherche du CRM
et de l'ISM, à savoir: algèbre et théorie des nombres, analyse,
combinatoire, dynamique non-linéaire, géométrie et topologie,
informatique quantique, mathématiques actuarielles et financières,
mathématiques appliquées, méthodes mathématiques en imagerie médicale,
physique mathématique, probabilités, statistique et théorie des catégories.

Le CRM est un centre national de recherches en sciences mathématiques.
Il regroupe treize laboratoires de recherche et organise chaque année un
large éventail d'activités scientifiques faisant appel à une
participation internationale.

L'ISM est un consortium de neuf universités québécoises (Université
Concordia, HEC Montréal, Université Laval, Université McGill, Université
de Montréal, UQAM, UQTR, Université de Sherbrooke et Université
Bishop's) qui promeut la formation et la collaboration en sciences
mathématiques.

*Admissibilité *

Afin d'être admissibles à la bourse postdoctorale CRM-ISM, les
chercheurs doivent avoir obtenu leur doctorat après le 1er mai 2014. La
priorité sera donnée à ceux qui auront obtenu leur doctorat dans les 3
ans précédant la demande.

Veuillez noter que la préférence sera accordée à des candidats qui ne
sont pas actuellement inscrits dans une université faisant partie de
l'ISM. Ceci ne constitue cependant pas un critère d'éligibilité.
