Christiane Rousseau, member of the Centre de recherches mathématiques and faculty at the Département de mathématiques et de statistique of the Université de Montréal has been appointed member of the Scientific Board of the International Basic Sciences Programme (IBSP) of UNESCO for a three-year term from 2015 to 2017. 

Let us recall that she was President of the Canadian Mathematical Society from 2002 to 2004. When she was Director of the Centre de recherches mathématiques (CRM) in 2008-09, she initiated the international year “Mathematics of Planet Earth 2013” under the patronage of UNESCO. In 2011-2015, she was Vice-president of the International Mathematical Union (IMU), and she continues as a member of the IMU Executive Committee for the 2015-2018 term.

Christiane Rousseau, membre du Centre de recherches mathématiques et professeure au Département de mathématiques et de statistique de l’Université de Montréal a été nommée membre du conseil scientifique de l’International Basic Sciences Programme (IBSP) de l’UNESCO pour un mandat de trois ans de 2015 à 2017.

Rappelons qu’elle a été présidente de la Société mathématique du Canada de 2002 à 2004. Lorsqu’elle dirigeait le Centre de Recherches Mathématiques (CRM) en 2008-09, elle a lancé l’année internationale « Mathématiques de la planète Terre 2013 » sous le patronage de l’UNESCO. De 2011 à 2015, elle a été vice-présidente de l’Union mathématique internationale (UMI), et elle continue de siéger sur le comité exécutif de l’UMI pour 2015-2018.
