[cmath] 2013 CMS Summer Meeting - Halifax, Nova Scotia June 4-7

The Canadian Mathematical Society (CMS <http://cms.math.ca/>), Saint
Mary's University <http://www.smu.ca/> &  Dalhousie University
<http://www.dal.ca/> invite the mathematical community to the 2013 CMS
Summer Meeting <http://cms.math.ca/Events/summer13/> at _Dalhousie
University_ <http://www.dal.ca/>. Registration, exhibits, plenary talks,
poster presentations and coffee breaks are located in the Student Union
Building on the Dalhousie University Campus.

The Meeting starts off with an AARMS - MPE Public Lecture given by
*Charlotte K. Hemelrijk (**Centre for Ecological and Evolutionary
Studies, University of Groningen)***on Tuesday at 6:00 pm at Saint
Mary's University, followed by the Welcome Reception.

On Friday the meeting will have an additional public lecture given by
*Erik Demaine* (MIT, USA)

The meeting will include *Education sessions* on Thursday including:
Mathematics Camps, Outreach in the Schools, and Popularization in
Mathematics.

This year CMS will feature a *Math Exhibit of Art *created by *Dr. Eva
Knoll*, Ph.D. Assistant professor, at Mount Saint Vincent University in
Halifax, Nova Scotia.

The *Women in Math Committee* will be hosting a lunch and panel
discussion. The CMS Women in Mathematics Committee will be hosting a
*lunch and panel discussion* that is open to all women registered in the
conference. There is no charge and no preregistration is required.

The program includes a large number of scientific sessions in a wide
variety of topics and the following Prize and Plenary Lectures:

des Mathématiques de la planète Terre (MPT) par *Charlotte K. Hemelrijk
(Centre for Ecological and Evolutionary Studies, Université de
Groningue)* le mardi à 18 h à l'Université Saint Mary's. Cette
conférence sera suivie de la réception d'accueil.

La Réunion propose des sessions en éducation le jeudi sur les thèmes
suivants : camps mathématiques, sensibilisation dans les écoles et
vulgarisation des mathématiques.

Cette année, la SMC présentera une *exposition d'art mathématique* créée
par Eva Knoll, professeure adjointe à l'Université Mount Saint Vincent
de Halifax (Nouvelle-Écosse).

Le *Comité des femmes en mathématiques* de la SMC sera l'hôte d'un
*déjeuner-débat*. Cette activité est offerte gratuitement à toutes les
femmes inscrites au congrès, et la préinscription n'est pas requise.
