The CMS is pleased to announce that *Roland Speicher* (Queen's 
University) is the recipient of the 2012 Jeffery-Williams Prize.

The Jeffery Williams Prize was inaugurated to recognize mathematicians 
who have made outstanding contributions to mathematical research.
