      Tenure-Track Position in the area of Algebra and Analysis

The University of Windsor, Department of Mathematics and Statistics 
invites applications for a tenure-track position in the area of Algebra 
and Analysis at the rank of Assistant Professor commencing as early as * 
September 1, 2010. * This position is subject to final budgetary approval.

Presently, the areas of research in the Department of Mathematics and 
Statistics include: Algebra, Analysis, Applied Mathematics, Operational 
Research, and Statistics. There are excellent opportunities for 
collaboration with researchers in Business Administration, Computer 
Science, Economics, and Engineering. . Within the Mathematics and 
Statistics PhD program, the fields of study are Mathematics and 
Statistics. For the MSc program, the fields of study are also 
Mathematics and Statistics. At the undergraduate level, we offer 
Bachelor of Mathematics programs in Mathematics, Mathematics and 
Statistics, and Mathematics and Computer Science. There is a strong 
tradition of excellence in teaching at all levels, and several of our 
faculty have received distinguished teaching awards. For further

A successful candidate must:

    * have a PhD by the date of appointment (or be near completion),
    * be able to contribute in a major way to the development of our
      newly approved PhD program in Mathematics,
    * be dedicated to excellence in teaching at all levels, and
    * have a realizable potential and willingness to develop a strong
      research program in Algebra or Analysis.

Preference will be given to candidates in Algebra.
