The Israel Halperin Prize in Operator Algebras and Operator Theory

The Israel Halperin Prize is to be awarded quinquennially
for outstanding work in operator algebras and operator
theory by members of the Canadian mathematical community,
within approximately ten years of their Ph.D.   

Past winners are (1980) Man Duen Choi, (1985) Kenneth Davidson
and David Handelman, (1990) Ian Putnam, (1995) Nigel Higson,
(2000) Guihua Gong and Alexandru Nica. The prize selection
committee consists of these past winner and George Elliott.

It is the intention to award the next prize at the
Canadian Operator Symposium in Fredericton June 7-11, 2010.

Nominations should consist of a letter of support from the
nominator and a current c.v for the nominee.  Please send
it in an electronic format to the

The deadline is May 1, 2010.
