The Canadian Mathematical Society (CMS) is pleased to announce that Nassif
Ghoussoub from the University of British Columbia is the recipient of the
<http://www.cms.math.ca/Prizes/info/db> 2010 CMS David Borwein Distinguished
Career Award in recognition of his exceptional, broad, and continued
contribution to mathematics. Nassif Ghoussoub will receive his award at the
Society’s  <http://www.cms.math.ca/Events/winter10/> 2010 Winter Meeting in
Vancouver, British Columbia. 

The David Borwein Distinguished Career Award was established in 2004 to
<http://www.cms.math.ca/Prizes/recip?id=DB> recognize individuals who have
made a sustained outstanding contribution to the advancement of mathematics.
David Borwein is a distinguished mathematician and former CMS President. The
first award was presented in 2006 and includes a sculpture donated by the
Borwein Family.

La Société mathématique du Canada (SMC) est fière d’annoncer que Nassif
Ghoussoub de l’Université de la Colombie-Britannique est le lauréat 2010 du
<http://www.cms.math.ca/Prix/info/db> prix David-Borwein de mathématicien
émérite pour l’ensemble d’une carrière, en reconnaissance de sa contribution
exceptionnelle, étendue et soutenue aux mathématiques. Nassif Ghoussoub
recevra son prix à la  <http://www.cms.math.ca/Reunions/hiver10/.f> Réunion
d’hiver 2010 de la Société à Vancouver, en Colombie-Britannique. 

Créé en 2004, le prix David-Borwein de mathématicien émérite pour l’ensemble
d’une carrière  <http://www.cms.math.ca/Prix/recip?id=DB> rend hommage à un
mathématicien qui a fait une contribution exceptionnelle et soutenue à
l’avancement des mathématiques. David Borwein est un mathématicien émérite
et un ancien président de la SMC. Ce prix a été remis pour la première fois
en 2006 et comprend une sculpture, don de la famille Borwein.
