Charles Sturt University is seeking to make a professorial appointment to 
lead the Mathematical Sciences Discipline within the University

The following position is open to applicants with either a mathematics or 
statistics background.

Associate Professor/ Professor in Mathematical Science Charles Sturt 
University, Australia

Full Time, Continuing

HEW Academic Level D/E – AUD $121,860-$156,973 (Including 17% 
Superannuation)

The School of Computing and Mathematics offers a wide-range of on-campus 
and distance education courses for undergraduate and postgraduate 
students. The teaching and research focus of the school is on the 
practical applications of IT, mathematics and statistics to the global 
challenges faced by industry and business. The school supports both 
undergraduate and graduate programs in the mathematical sciences as well 
as a research masters in computational modelling in association with the 
International Centre for Water. Our graduates are very successful in 
obtaining employment. The mathematical sciences are also engaged in 
collaborative research with a range of disciplines and faculties. The 
school also provides a statistical consultancy service through the 
Quantitative Consulting Unit (QCU).

The Assoc. Professor/ Professor of Mathematical Science will be 
responsible for the overall academic leadership of the mathematical 
sciences disciplines, including leadership of the QCU, and will oversee 
the development of innovative programs in mathematics & statistics that 
will complement a wide range of academic programs in the business, 
science, education and arts faculties across the University. The Assoc. 
Professor/ Professor of Mathematical Science will also be expected to 
maintain a strong core discipline presence in the mathematical sciences, 
develop high quality research programs, facilitate collaborative research 
linkages with other research groups, attract research funding and 
supervise postgraduate students.
