Le département de mathématiques de l'Université du Québec à Montréal 
souhaite présenter une candidature au programme d'appui aux professeurs 
universitaires (APU) du CRSNG pour le concours de l'automne 2006. Pour 
être admissible, vous devez être citoyen canadien ou résident permanent du 
Canada au 1er novembre 2006; être une femme ou un autochtone titulaire 
d'un diplôme de doctorat dans l'un des domaines appuyés par le CRSNG; ne 
pas occuper maintenant ou avoir occupé dans le passé un poste permanent ou 
menant à la permanence dans une université canadienne.  Une description

Les domaines privilégiés sont les suivants : combinatoire algébrique et 
énumérative en lien avec l'algèbre, la géométrie algébrique, la théorie 
des représentations ou la mécanique statistique.  Le salaire et le rang 
seront fixés selon les qualifications et l'expérience en conformité avec 
la convention collective SPUQ-UQAM.

Pour postuler, les personnes doivent faire parvenir leur dossier de 
candidature au directeur du département, Robert Bédard, Département de 
mathématiques, Université du Québec à Montréal, CP 8888, Succ. 
Centre-Ville, Montréal, QC H3C 3P8, Canada, au plus tard le 20 juillet 
2006. Ces dossiers de candidature doivent comprendre le curriculum vitae, 
le projet de recherche (préférablement une version préliminaire des 
formulaires 100 et 101 du CRSNG) et trois lettres de recommandation 
confidentielles, dont une sur l'enseignement, adressées directement au 
directeur. Nous encourageons les candidat(e)s à nous faire parvenir 
jusqu'à trois tirés à parts de leurs contributions les plus importantes. 
La candidature retenue sera ensuite présentée au concours du CRSNG, dont 
l'échéance est le 1er novembre 2006 et avec une réponse du CRSNG vers le 
1er avril 2007. Si la candidature est retenue par le CRSNG, la personne 
entrera en fonction le 1 juin 2007 dans un poste menant à la permanence 
avec une charge d'enseignement réduite pendant la durée du programme (au 
moins trois ans).

The Department of Mathematics of the University of Quebec at Montreal is 
seeking to nominate a candidate for an NSERC University Faculty Award in 
the fall 2006 competition. Consequently only candidates meeting the 
criteria for this program will be considered. Among these criteria are : 
being a canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada as of November 
1 2006; being a woman or aboriginal person who holds a doctorate in one of 
the fields of research that NSERC supports; not presently being in a 
tenured or tenure-track position in a canadian university, nor previously

The research areas are algebraic and enumerative combinatorics related to 
algebra, algebraic geometry, representation theory or statistical 
mechanics. The salary and rank will be commensurate with the 
qualifications and experience in accordance with the collective agreement 
SPUQ-UQAM.

Applicants should send a curriculum vitae, a research project (preferably 
a preliminary version of NSERC forms 100 and 101) and arrange for three 
confidential letters of recommendation, with one addressing teaching, to 
be sent to the director of the department Robert Bédard, Département de 
mathématiques, Université du Québec à Montréal, CP 8888, Succ. 
Centre-Ville, Montréal, QC H3C 3P8 by July 20 2006. Applicants are also 
encouraged to include up to three copies of their most significant 
publications.  The successful candidate will be nominated for the fall 
2006 competition, whose deadline to apply is November 1st 2006 and with an 
answer by NSERC around April 1st 2007. If the candidacy is successful at 
the NSERC level, the nominee will assume a tenure-track position starting 
June 1st 2007 with a reduced teaching load during the duration of the 
award (at least 3 years).
