Mathematics and Statistics

One-Year Limited-Term Positions

The University of Windsor invites applications for three-year,
limited-term positions in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at
the rank of Assistant Professor commencing July 1, 2006 (negotiable).
These positions are subject to final budgetary approval.

The successful applicants are expected to have a Ph.D degree in
Mathematics or Statistics at the time of appointment, evidence of
successful teaching, and a strong commitment to providing quality
instruction to a variety of students in Mathematics, Statistics, and
related disciplines.  As per the collective agreement, duties will consist
of teaching six one-semester courses, either three in each of two
semesters, or two in each of three semesters.

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics research areas include
Statistics, Operational Research, Algebra, Analysis, and Applied
Mathematics.  There are excellent opportunities for collaboration with
researchers in Economics, Engineering, Business Administration and
Computer Science.  At the graduate level, the Department offers a Masters
Degree in Mathematics and Statistics, and a PhD degree in Statistics.  At
the undergraduate level, we offer Bachelor of Mathematics programs in
Mathematics, Mathematics and Statistics, and Mathematics and Computer
Science.  The Department also offers a multidisciplinary Bachelor of
Operational Research program.  There is a strong tradition of excellence
in teaching at all levels, and several of our faculty have received
distinguished teaching awards.  For further information about the

of citizenship/immigration status; a detailed curriculum vitae; a
statement of teaching and research interests; graduate transcripts, if
available; evidence of teaching effectiveness; and three current letters
