                      Tenure-Track Positions in
     Computational Mathematics, Cryptography, and Quantum Computing
    Three-Year Definite-Term Lectureship in Combinatorics or Optimization
          Department of Combinatorics and Optimization
                       University of Waterloo

The Department of Combinatorics and Optimization invites applications for
tenure-track faculty positions in each of computational mathematics,
cryptography and quantum computing. While the intention is to make an
appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, applications for more
senior positions will be considered. A Ph.D. degree and evidence of
excellence in research and teaching are required. The successful applicant
is expected to maintain an active program of research, to attract and
supervise graduate students, and to participate in undergraduate and
graduate teaching.

The Department also invites applications for a 3-year definite-term
position as a lecturer. Duties will include undergraduate teaching and
academic advising. A Master's degree or, preferably, a Ph. D. and evidence
of excellence in teaching are required. Successful applicants may be
eligible for reappointment to a second term, and those demonstrating
exceptional performance in teaching and service may be considered for an
ongoing appointment as a Continuing Lecturer.

Salary will depend on the candidate's qualifications and experience. The
effective date of all these appointments is July 1, 2006.
