                       Assistant Professor of Statistics

University of Toronto at Mississauga, Department of Mathematical and
Computational Sciences, together with the Graduate Department of
Statistics, University of Toronto, invites applications for a
tenure-stream appointment at the Assistant Professor level starting July
1, 2006. Duties will include research, undergraduate and graduate
teaching, involvement in graduate supervision, and participation in
departmental activities. Demonstrated or potential excellence in research
and teaching, a strong interest in teaching applied statistics and a
doctoral degree are required. Expertise in Applied Statistics (such as
Bioinformatics, Statistical Computing, etc.) would be welcome. However,
strong candidates in any area of statistics are encouraged to apply.

Letters of application with curriculum vitae, graduate transcripts and
reprints, and a short statement describing the candidate's research
programme should be sent to Chair, Statistics Search Committee, Department
of Mathematical and Computational Sciences, University of Toronto at
Mississauga, Room 3359 Mississauga Road North, Mississauga, Ontario,
Canada L5L 1C6 by December 15, 2005.  Applicants should ask three
references to send a letter of recommendation under separate cover to the
same address by the same deadline; at least one letter should be primarily
concerned with the candidate's teaching. Application can also be sent by
