                             Mathematics

Bishop’s University Mathematics Department invites applications for a 
ten-month temporary appointment effective August 1, 2005 or by 
arrangement.  The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D., and have 
significant teaching experience. A research program including post-
doctoral experience is desired. The teaching load is three courses per 
semester. The salary range is $44,747 - $63,427, and there is a 
professional development allowance of $1,667. 
The Department is small but has a vigorous research program, and is 
committed to teaching excellence. One member holds the Maurice 
Auslander Chair in Representations of Algebras. The teaching of the 
Department is supported by the Math/Stats Help Center.  Descriptions

Sherbrooke, Québec is an affordable city of 140,000, two universities 
and a teaching and research hospital, in the center of Québec’s 
beautiful Eastern Townships, but only ninety minutes from Montreal. 
Bishop’s is nestled in the quiet, bilingual borough of Lennoxville, on a 
500-acre campus, abounding in recreational opportunities. Bishop’s is 
a primarily undergraduate, English language institution with 2150 full-
time students.
