Dear all,

The CMS Winter Meeting is going virtual from December 2-7 and the
Student Committee
has lots of student activities lined up: Student Social, Student Research
Talks, Poster Session, and a Writing Workshop. We encourage both
undergraduate and graduate students to participate. Don’t miss out on this
great opportunity to share your research and network with people from
across the country!

*Note that in order to participate in these activities, you must register
for the conference: https://winter21.cms.math.ca/index.php/registration/. There
is a discounted COVID rate that students may find particularly interesting.

*Student Social:*

Network and interact with fellow students in a non-academic relaxed
atmosphere buoyed by icebreaker activities! Please fill in the following

*Student Research Talks Session:*

Present your research to your peers in a 20-minute talk! All research areas
in pure/applied math, statistics, and math education will be considered.

Interested students should submit a title and abstract with their name and
affiliation to studc-winter21-session at cms.math.ca *before 11:59p.m. EST on
Friday, November 26th*. Students selected to present will be notified
shortly after their submission has been received.

*Student Poster Session:*

Get creative and design a poster describing your research! All poster
presentations will be judged by a jury of professors, and the top three
winners will be awarded prizes.

Interested students should submit a title and abstract with their name and
affiliation to studc-winter21-poster at cms.math.ca *before 11:59p.m. EST on
Friday, November 26th*. Students selected to present will be notified
shortly after their submission has been received.

*Writing Workshop:*
Come experience a communal writing workshop where you will get to write
about your favorite math topics. Your piece will have the chance of being
published in an upcoming StudC magazine!

La réunion d’hiver de la SMC a lieu du 2 au 7 décembre et le comité
étudiant (StudC) a préparé plusieurs activités pour les étudiant(e)s de
tous les cycles d’études : activité sociale, session de présentations de
recherche, session de présentations par affiche et atelier d'écriture.
Ne manquez
pas cette chance de partager votre recherche et d'agrandir votre réseau de
communication!

*Pour participer aux activités ci-dessus, vous devez vous inscrire pour la
conférence: https://hiver21.smc.math.ca/index.php/inscription/. Il y a un
Tarif Covid préférentiel qui est particulièrement intéressant pour les
étudiants.

*Activité sociale :*

Rencontrez d’autres étudiant(e)s de partout à travers le Canada dans un
contexte un peu moins académique! Des jeux et des activités brise-glace à

*Session de présentations de recherche :*

statistiques, ou concernant la pédagogie de ces domaines seront considérées.

(heure de l'Est) le vendredi 26 novembre*. Ceux sélectionnés seront
notifiés peu après que leur soumission aura été reçue.

*Session de présentations par affiche :*

Faites preuve de créativité et concevez une affiche qui présente votre
recherche! Les affiches seront jugées par des professeurs et trois gagnants
se verront accorder des prix.

Les étudiant(e)s intéressés doivent soumettre un titre et un résumé avec
leur nom et affiliation à studc-hiver21-affiche at smc.math.ca *avant 23h59
(heure de l'Est) le vendredi 26 novembre*. Ceux sélectionnés seront

*Atelier d'écriture :*

Vivez une expérience d'écriture en groupe où vous pourrez écrire sur vos
sujets mathématiques préférés. Vous aurez même la chance de voir votre
texte publié dans un magazine de StudC à venir !
