2013 Fields Medal Symposium

The 2013 Fields Medal Symposium honours 2010 Fields Medallist Elon
Lindenstrauss (Hebrew University). The goals of the Symposium are to bring
together brilliant researchers to help take the area to new frontiers, to
raise public awareness of Mathematics and the Fields Medal, and to inspire
the next generation.

STUDENT EVENT

Tuesday, October 1, 2013
7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
The Fields Institute, 222 College Street, Toronto

This evening event brings together students and mathematics professionals
for an evening of discussion and inspiration, giving students the
opportunity to ask questions and learn new ideas. Ralf Spatzier (University
of Michigan) and Dmitry Jakobson (McGill University) will stir students'
curiosity with talks about their work. Later in the evening, 2010 Fields
Medallist Elon Lindenstrauss (Hebrew University) will join Ralf, Dmitry, and
Peter Sarnak (IAS) for a panel discussion, moderated by Zach Paikin.

Innovation, and Paul Young, VP - Research for the University of Toronto
