FIELDS INSTITUTE
POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS
=============================
Description: Applications are invited for postdoctoral fellowship
positions at the Fields Institute in Toronto for the 2008-2009
academic year. The Thematic Program on Arithmetic Geometry,
Hyperbolic Geometry and Related Topics will take place at the
Institute July to December 2008 and the Thematic Program on O-Minimal
Structures and Real Analytic Geometry will take place at the Institute
from January to June 2009. The fellowships provide for a period of
engagement in research and participation in the activities of the
Institute. They may be offered in conjunction with partner
universities, through which a further period of support may be
possible.
One recipient will be awarded the Institute's prestigious Jerrold E.
Marsden Postdoctoral Fellowship. Applicants seeking postdoctoral
fellowships funded by other agencies (such as NSERC or international
fellowships) are encouraged to request the Fields Institute as their
proposed location of tenure, and should apply to the Institute for a
letter of invitation. Funding is being sought from NSF to support
junior U.S. participants in these programs.
Eligibility: Qualified candidates who will have recently completed a
PhD in a related area of the mathematical sciences are encouraged to
apply.
Deadline: December 7, 2007, although late applications may be
considered.
Application Information: Please consult

The Fields Institute is strongly committed to diversity within its
community and especially welcomes applications from visible minority
group members, women, Aboriginal persons, persons with disabilities,
members of sexual minority groups, and others who may contribute to
the further diversification of ideas.
Sincerely,
Alison Conway
