<p>The Department of
Mathematics and Statistics
at The University of
Winnipeg invites
applications for a
tenure-track position in
Mathematics at the rank of
Assistant Professor.
Subject to budgetary
approval, this position
will commence July 1,
2021. Salary levels will
be commensurate with
qualifications and
experience.<br>

The successful candidate
will be welcomed into a
supportive and collegial
department with a record
of teaching and research
excellence. The University
of Winnipeg ranks highly
among primarily
undergraduate universities
for external science grant
funding, and the
Department of Mathematics
and Statistics has a
strong record of success
in obtaining research
funding. The department
has seventeen regular
faculty members. Further

<p><strong>Qualifications<br>
<br>
</strong>Applicants must
hold a Ph.D. in
mathematics and have an
active research program.
The successful candidate
will have a record of
teaching excellence at the
undergraduate level,
provide evidence of
high-quality research, and
have a strong potential
for external research
funding. Candidates must
have excellent
interpersonal and
communication skills and a
demonstrated ability to
work well with colleagues
and students.</p>
<p>Individuals with
expertise in any area of
pure mathematics are
invited to apply.
Preference will be given
to applicants with a
record of research
excellence in
combinatorics,
representation theory or
functional analysis. The
main criteria for
selecting a candidate will
be teaching excellence and
research excellence.</p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>
<p>The successful candidate
will be expected to: teach
a wide range of courses in
mathematics at the
undergraduate level;
supervise student research
projects; establish and
maintain an active
research program; and
apply for external
research funding. As well,
the successful candidate
will be expected to work
collegially with
department members and to
participate in
Departmental and
University service.<br>
