<html><head></head><body bgcolor="#FFFFFF"><div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(26, 26, 26, 0.292969); -webkit-composition-fill-color: rgba(175, 192, 227, 0.230469); -webkit-composition-frame-color: rgba(77, 128, 180, 0.230469); "><b>PIMS-UBC RELOCATES TO STATE-OF-THE-ART FACILITY</b></span><br></div><div><div><span></span><br><span>The UBC headquarters for the Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences (PIMS) has </span></div><div><span>moved to a new state-of-the-art, centrally located facility on the 4th floor of the brand new </span></div><div><span>Earth Sciences Building (ESB) at UBC.</span></div></div><div><div><br><span>This impressive building is centrally located at UBC’s Point Grey Campus and PIMS’ new </span></div><div><span>space includes a reception area, offices for administration, offices for up to 24 visitors and postdoctoral fellows and lab workspace for ten graduate students. It also boasts a dedicated videoconferencing room and a spacious lounge and an array of classrooms throughout the building are available for PIMS seminars and workshops.</span><br><span></span><br><span>The $75 million ESB is home to Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences, Statistics, PIMS, </span></div><div><span>and the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Science. It is the largest panelized wood building and </span></div><div><span>the largest application of cross laminated timber in North America.
