<p>The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at McGill University
invites
applications for a tenure-track position in Algebra. While
appointments are
expected to be made at the Assistant Professor level, more senior
applicants would be considered.
</p>
<p>The search will cover the broad area of Algebra, with a special
emphasis on
Geometric Group Theory and on Algebraic Geometry
</p>
<p>Candidates must have a doctoral degree at the date of appointment
and a strong
background in mathematics. They are expected to have demonstrated
the capacity
for independent research of excellent quality. Selection criteria
include
research accomplishments, as well as potential contributions to
the Department's
educational programs at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
