<p>The Departments of Epidemiology & Biostatistics and
Statistical & Actuarial
Sciences are pleased to announce a search for a Tier 2 Canada
Research
Chair at the Assistant (probationary (tenure-track)) or Associate
(probationary (tenure-track) or tenured) Professor level in
Biostatistics. The starting date will be January 1, 2012 or
thereafter and
will depend upon a successful CRC nomination.

successful candidate must have a PhD or equivalent and an
established
record of high impact research and publication in Biostatistics.
In order
to be eligible for a Tier 2 Chair, the candidate will be less than
10 years
since PhD and will be an emerging research leader. The candidate
will also
have a commitment to, and demonstrated aptitude for, teaching and
will be
expected to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels and to
supervise
graduate students and provide leadership in the Collaborative
Graduate
Program in Biostatistics.
</p>
<p>Faculty in the Collaborative Graduate Program in Biostatistics
have
research interests which include the development and application
of a range
of methodologies (including cluster randomization, epidemiology,
epidemiologic risk assessment, genetic epidemiology, health
economics,
interval-censored data, multi-state models, nonparametric
regression,
statistical genomics, statistical computing, survey methods, and
survival
analysis). The successful candidate will benefit from the growing
research
interest at Western in the development of statistical methods for
the
assessment of gene-environment interactions, causal effect
estimation, and
personalized medicine.

accomplishments qualify you for this position, and must
