<p>A postdoctoral research fellow position in the Department of

Mathematics at Ryerson University is available in the area of Graph

Theory, starting July 1, 2010. This position provides an opportunity

to engage in research in mathematics, with a limited amount of

teaching, and is suited for talented mathematicians who have recently

completed their Ph.D. The salary is competitive, with funding provided

for a year and with potential for renewal for a second year.

</p>

<p>The applicant should have a PhD in Mathematics or Computer

Science. The ideal candidate would have expertise in one or more of

the areas of complex networks (such as the web graph or on-line social

networks), random graphs, vertex pursuit games (such as Cops and

Robbers), infinite graphs, or graph homomorphisms. The position is

open to candidates of any nationality and selection will be based upon

the candidate's research record and potential. Knowledge or experience

with programming is a plus. As the applicant will normally teach, some

teaching experience is preferred.

and at least three letters of recommendation. At least one of these

letters should report on the candidate's teaching abilities.
