Below please find below new programme details for ICME 12 to be held in
Seoul in 2012 (from Bernard). We are asked for input and (as usual)
the timelines are extremely short (Jan 20).<br>
1. The titles of the 37 proposed topic groups are announced
and input is sought for names of co-leaders.<br>
2. Input is sought for proposed names of Regular Lecturers.
There are generally some 50 of these. At ICME 11
(2008), Christiane Rousseau, Louise Poirier and Carolyn Kieran were
Regular Lecturers and Eric Muller and Luis Radford were part of two
survey team reports in the Regular Lecture slots. [I hope I've
remembered everyone.] <br><br>
Of course proposals must be briefly documented. Time is short so
teamwork is needed. Ideas should be discussed with colleagues. I'm
happy to help.<br>

Chairs of ICMI Affiliate Study Groups and of CIAEM,<br><br>
As the tradition has it, I am writing to inform you of developments
concerning the programme of ICME-12 (to be held in Seoul in July 2012)
and also to ask for your input for some components on the
programme.<br><br>
The International Programme Committee for ICME-12 had its first meeting
last June, under the presidency of its Chair, Sung Je Cho. Many
items of the programme are now taking shape, in particular as regards the
plenary sessions. General information about this will be issued in
a near future, but at the moment I wish to concentrate on two items on
the programme: Topic Study Groups and Regular Lectures.<br><br>

--- TOPIC STUDY GROUPS<br>
The IPC has identified the list of the 37 Topic Study Groups to be
offered at ICME-12. You will find this list appended at the bottom
of this message. The IPC is now preparing a brief description of
each of these Groups.<br><br>
You are invited to propose names of individuals to be put in charge of
the Groups, either as a co-chairs or members of the organising
teams.<br><br>
<br>
--- REGULAR LECTURES<br>
You are also invited to propose names of individuals to play the role of
regular lecturers at ICME-12.<br><br>
<br>
In each case (Topic Study Groups or Regular Lectures), you should provide
a few lines of background information supporting your proposals.
Please comment on why you think that this person is suitable to play the
role that you are proposing.<br><br>

Your proposals should be sent directly to the chair of the ICME-12 IPC,
Sung Je Cho (sungjcho@snu.ac.kr), NO LATER THAN JANUARY 20.<br><br>
