soliciting proposals for new seed projects. Seed projects with an annual MITACS
budget of $20K-$50K and are expected to have a 12-18 months duration. Typically
seed projects involve 2-6 faculty members at one or more Canadian universities,
1-3 partner organizations, with total budgets of up to $100K annually. These
projects must show potential to grow into full-scale large projects and are
expected to apply for full-scale status at their conclusion. All projects must
obtain non-NCE partner funds before MITACS funds are released. MITACS is
primarily interested in projects within its current theme areas. However the
overall merit of the project carries the highest priority and projects in
potentially new application areas are also encouraged.<?xml:namespace prefix = o

propositions de nouveaux projets de démarrage. D’une durée de 12 à 18 mois, les
projets de démarrage sont accordés un budget annuel de 20 000 $ à 50 000 $ par
MITACS. Normalement, entre deux et six professeurs en provenance d’une ou de
plusieurs universités canadiennes participent aux projets de démarrage en
collaboration avec un à trois organismes partenaires. Le budget total du projet
peut atteindre jusqu’à 100 000 $ par année. Il faut que ces projets aient le
potentiel de devenir de projets majeurs et MITACS s’attend à ce qu’ils fassent
une demande en vue de passer à la catégorie des projets majeurs lorsque leur
cycle de démarrage prend fin. Tous les projets doivent obtenir des fonds auprès
de partenaires extérieurs aux RCE avant que les fonds MITACS ne soient versés.
MITACS s’intéresse avant tout aux projets qui entretiennent un lien avec ses
thèmes actuels. Toutefois, le réseau accorde la plus grande priorité au mérite
global de chaque projet et ainsi il invite également les propositions de projets
liés à de nouveaux domaines d’application potentiels.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>
