[cmath] Workshop on Listening to and Giving Math talks at the CMS Meeting / Atelier sur comment écouter et donner un exposé mathématique à la rencontre de la SMC

The Student Committee of the CMS is organizing a*workshop* titled 
‘/Advice on Listening to and Giving a Mathematics Presentation/’ that 
will be held at the upcoming CMS Winter Meeting in Montreal. The 
objective of the workshop is to train students in the art of giving 
mathematical talks. Specifically, to offer guidance and resources for 
listening and speaking about mathematics. Everyone is welcome to attend!
This workshop will be split into three parts.Professors*Asif 
Zaman* and*Monica Nevins* will give presentations, the first of which 
will focus on how to listen to a math talk and get the most out of it, 
and the second on how to give effective talks. The remainder of 
the workshop will be spent applying what was presented in the talks on 
an elevator pitch for your own research.

This event is free of charge for those attending the meeting. It will 
take place on Friday, December 1st from 9:00 to 12:00. Please

Le comité étudiant de la SMC organise un*atelier* appelé ‘/Conseils pour 
écouter et donner une présentation mathématique/’ qui aura lieu lors de 
la prochaine rencontre d'hiver de la SMC à Montréal. L'objectif de cet 
atelier est de former les étudiants dans l'art de donner un exposé 
mathématique, en particulier pour donner des conseils et des ressources 
sur le sujet. Tout le monde est le bienvenu!

Cet atelier seradivisé en trois parties. Il y aura des présentationsdes 
professeurs*Asif Zaman* et*Monica Nevins*, la première portant sur 
comment écouter un exposé mathématique et en tirerle meilleur parti, la 
deuxième sur comment donner une bonne présentation mathématique. Dans le 
reste de cet atelier, on appliquera ce qui aura été présenté dans les 
exposés pour arriver àun argumentaire éclair de votre propre recherche.

Cet atelier est gratuit pour les participants à la conférence. Il aura 
lieu le vendredi 1er décembre de 9h à 12h. Veuillez remplir le
