*Call for Nominations for the 2022 Excellence in Teaching Award

*The CMS Excellence in Teaching Award Selection Committee invites 
nominations for the 2022 Excellence in Teaching Award.

The Excellence in Teaching Award recognizes sustained and distinguished 
contributions in teaching at the post-secondary undergraduate level at a 
Canadian institution. The award focuses on the recipient's proven 
excellence as a teacher at the undergraduate level as exemplified by 
unusual effectiveness in the classroom and/or commitment and dedication 
to teaching and to students.

CMS aims to promote and celebrate diversity in the broadest sense. We 
strongly encourage department chairs and nominating committees to put 
forward nominations for outstanding colleagues regardless of race, 
gender, ethnicity or sexual orientation.

A nomination will consist of:

 1. a signed nominating statement from a present or past colleague, or
    collaborator (no more than three pages) having direct knowledge of
    the nominee's contribution;
 2. a curriculum vitae (maximum five pages);
 3. three letters of support, at least one from a former student (who
    has followed a course more than a year ago) and one from the chair
    of the nominee's unit. The letter of the Chair of the nominee's unit
    could include a one-page summary on information from student
    evaluations, or similar information;
 4. other supporting material (maximum 10 pages).

Nominations and reference letters should be submitted electronically, 
preferably in PDF format, to: etaward at cms.math.ca *no later than the 
deadline of November 15, 2021*.

*La Comité de sélection du Prix d’excellence en enseignement de la SMC 
invite un appel de mises en candidatures pour le Prix d’excellence en 
enseignement 2022.

Le Prix d'excellence en enseignement récompense des contributions 
exceptionnelles et soutenues en enseignement au collégial et au premier 
cycle universitaire dans un établissement canadien.  Le Prix récompense 
l'excellence reconnue d'un enseignant ou d'une enseignante au niveau 
postsecondaire telle qu'illustrée par son efficacité exceptionnelle en 
classe ou son engagement et son dévouement envers l'enseignement et les 
étudiant.e.s.*

La SMC a pour but de promouvoir et de célébrer la diversité au sens le 
plus large. Nous encourageons fortement les directeurs et les 
directrices de département et les comités de mise en candidature à 
proposer des collègues exceptionnel.le.s sans distinction de race, de 
genre, d’appartenance ethnique ou d’orientation sexuelle.

Le dossier de mise en candidature se composera des éléments suivants :

 1. une lettre de mise en candidature d'au plus trois pages, signée par
    un.e collègue (actuel.le ou ancien.ne) ou un collaborateur ou une
    collaboratrice qui connaît intimement le travail de la personne
    proposée;
 2. un curriculum vitae (au plus cinq pages);
 3. trois lettres d'appui, dont au moins une d'un.e ancien.ne étudiant.e
    (qui a suivi un cours il y a plus d'un an) et une du directeur ou
    directrice du département de la personne proposée; cette lettre
    pourrait comprendre un bref résumé de renseignements tirés
    d'évaluations d'étudiant.e.s, ou d'autres renseignements de nature
    semblable;
 4. autre matériel d'appui (au plus dix pages).

par voie électronique, de préférence en format PDF, à :
