CUMC Award for excellence - Prix pour l’excellence du CCÉM

The deadline for the CUMC Award for Excellence is extended to June 15th.

This award is given to an outstanding undergraduate student for the purpose
of participating in the Canadian Undergraduate Mathematics Conference
(CUMC). It will be held at the Queen’s University, in Kingston, from July
24th to 28th 2019.

ELIGIBILITY

   - Must be an undergraduate student studying at a Canadian university
   - Must be studying mathematics or a related discipline
   - Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
   - Must present a poster or talk at the CUMC


CRITERIA

Three key categories will be considered and weighted equally:

   - university and mathematical community involvement
   - academic excellence
   - research potential.


Applications should be submitted to info at studc.math.ca.


Applications must be doc, docx, or pdf format. The application package must
contain and is limited to the following documents that speak to the above
criteria:

   - A Curriculum Vitae
   - A statement of qualifications and mathematical interests (no more than
   250 words
   - One reference letter from a faculty member or other professional, sent
   directly by the author from their professional email account

Le prix est décerné à un étudiant ou une étudiante du premier cycle pour
financer sa participation au Congrès Canadien des Étudiant·e·s en
Mathématiques (CCÉM). Ce congrès aura lieu à Queen’s University, à
Kingston, du 24 au 28 juillet 2019.

ELIGIBILITÉ

Le candidat ou la candidate doit

   - étudier au premier cycle dans une université canadienne;
   - étudier les mathématiques ou un domaine connexe;
   - être citoyen·ne canadien·ne ou résident·e permanent·e;
   - présenter une affiche ou une présentation orale au CCÉM.


CRITÈRES

Trois catégories seront considérées et sont jugées de manière équivalente
pour décerner le prix:

   - implication dans les communautés universitaires et mathématiques;
   - excellence académique;
   - potentiel de recherche



Les candidatures doivent être soumises à info at studc.math.ca.

Les fichiers doivent être au format doc, docx, ou pdf. Le dossier de
candidature doit contenir tous es documents suivants et seulement ceux-ci:

   - Un Curriculum Vitae
   - Une description des qualifications et des intérêts mathématiques (pas
   plus de 250 mots).
   - Une lettre de référence d'un·e professeur·e ou d'un·e autre
   professionnel·le, envoyée directement par la personne appuyant le candidat
   ou la candidate à partir de leur courriel professionnel.

Canadian Undergraduate Mathematics Conference (CUMC).

The CUMC is a unique opportunity for anyone who wants to explore their
interest in mathematics in an entirely new setting. Whether you’re an
undergraduate researcher wanting to give a student talk or you just have a
passion for mathematics and want to have some fun over the summer, this is
the perfect conference for you!

The CUMC offers five days full of student talks, social events, panels, and
keynote presentations from some of the most knowledgeable people in
academia and industry.
