Chers collègues et participants,

J'ai le plaisir de vous annoncer que le Neuvième atelier de résolution de
problèmes industriels de Montréal se tiendra au Centre de recherches
mathématiques du 19 au 23 août 2019. Il est organisé conjointement par le
CRM et l'Institut de valorisation des données ou IVADO (https://ivado.ca
), notre principal partenaire. Voici le site de l'atelier.

Comme pour les huit premiers ateliers, nous proposons aux participants
(professeurs, représentants industriels, stagiaires postdoctoraux et
étudiants) d'examiner et de résoudre des problèmes soumis par des
entreprises, notamment des compagnies d'assurance, de médias et de
transport. Les solutions de ces problèmes feront appel au traitement de la
langue naturelle, à la reconnaissance d'images et à la statistique (entre
autres domaines). Les renseignements concernant l'inscription et les
demandes d'aide financière sont maintenant disponibles sur le site de
l'atelier.

The Ninth Montreal Industrial Problem Solving Workshop will take place at
the Centre de recherches mathématiques on August 19-23, 2019. It will be
jointly organized by the CRM and the Institute for Data Valorization or

As was the case for the first eight IPSWs, the participants (professors,
industrial representatives, postdoctoral fellows, and students) will study
and solve concrete problems proposed by various companies, in particular
insurance, media, and transportation companies. The solution of these
problems will require techniques and expertise from natural language
processing, image recognition, and statistics (among other fields).
