**May 12, Celebrating Women in Mathematics**

The second World Meeting for Women in Mathematics that took place in Rio in
2018 chose May 12, the birth date of Maryam Mirzakhani, as the annual date
to celebrate women in mathematics.

contains several suggestions for local activities to celebrate this day.

This initiative is supported by several organizations for women in
mathematics worldwide (European Women in Mathematics, Association for Women
in Mathematics, African Women in Mathematics Association, Indian Women and
Mathematics, Colectivo de Mujeres Matemáticas de Chile and the Women's
Committee of the Iranian Mathematical Society).

Other organizations are welcome to join this initiative. To do this, they
are required to

- accept that their name is added to the May 12 website
- provide contact information
- disseminate the initiative through their channels
- submit information about their activities around May 12 to the May 12
website.

La deuxième réunion mondiale des femmes en mathématiques qui s'est tenue à
Rio en 2018 a choisi le 12 mai, date de naissance de Maryam Mirzakhani,
comme date annuelle pour célébrer les femmes en mathématiques.

plusieurs suggestions d'activités locales pour célébrer cette journée.

Cette initiative est soutenue par plusieurs organisations de femmes en
