The Canadian Mathematical Society Student Committee (CMS Studc) invites students (undergraduate and graduate) to present a talk on a topic of their choice on December 8-11 at the Student Research Session during the 2017 CMS Winter Meeting [https://cms.math.ca/Events/winter17/] in Waterloo, Ontario.
These presentations should introduce the student’s research to a general mathematical audience. If requested by the presenter, an experienced mentor will be available to provide feedback on the talk.
Any questions about the student sessions should be directed to the student session organizers, Aram Dermenjian and Robert Redelmeier, at studc-winter17-session at cms.math.ca.
To register for the session, contact the organizers of the session with a draft abstract by November 15. Notice of acceptance will be given shortly thereafter. Abstracts submitted after this deadline will be considered if space remains.  
Presenters will also have to register for the meeting, which can be done through this form [http://cms.math.ca/Events/winter16/registration]. Student members of the CMS who are presenting a poster or talk have significantly reduced registration costs ($30 until October 31, $45 thereafter). If you are not currently a member of the CMS, talk to your department chair about the possibility of becoming a university-sponsored student member for a reduced fee.

Le comité étudiant de la Société mathématique du Canada (Studc SMC) invite les étudiants (de tous cycles) à présenter un exposé  sur le sujet de leur choix, du 8 au 11 décembre, dans la séance d’exposés de recherche d’étudiants, qui aura lieu lors de la Réunion d'hiver de la SMC 201 [https://cms.math.ca/Reunions/hiver17/]7 à Waterloo, Ontario.
Ces exposés permettent de présenter la recherche effectuée par l'étudiant à un large public mathématique. Si le présentateur le désire, un mentor expérimenté sera disponible pour lui donner une rétroaction sur son exposé.
Pour toutes questions concernant la séance étudiante, veuillez contacter les organisateurs, Aram Dermenjian et Robert Redelmeier, à studc-hiver17-session at smc.math.ca.
Pour vous inscrire à la session, contactez les organisateurs avec un brouillon du résumé avant le 15 novembre. Avis d'acceptation sera donné aussitôt que possible. Les résumés soumis après cette date seront considérés seulement s’il y a des places de disponibles.
Les présentateurs auront également à s’inscrire à la réunion. L’inscription peut être complétée en utilisant ce formulaire [https://cms.math.ca/Reunions/hiver16/registration]. Les étudiants qui sont membres de la SMC et qui présentent une affiche ou un exposé ont droit à un tarif d'inscription réduit (30$ jusqu’au 31 octobre, 45$ par la suite). Si vous n'êtes pas déjà membre de la SMC, demandez à la direction de votre département s'il est possible de vous parrainer afin de devenir membre étudiant universitaire et ainsi avoir accès au tarif réduit.
