The 2014 Fields Medal Symposium is centred on the work of Cédric Villani (Fields Medal 2010), and its current and potential impact. The goal is to bring Villani's general area of study to a broader audience.

The Symposium will be opened by Dr. Meric Gertler, the University of Toronto's President and we look forward to addresses by a number of special invitees including Dr. B. Mario Pinto, President NSERC, and Shigefumi Mori (International Mathematical Union).

Following the opening remarks there will be a public lecture by Cédric Villani.
