Applications are invited for a tenure-track appointment in Actuarial 
Mathematics at the Assistant Professor level in the Department of 
Mathematics and Statistics, Faculty of Science, York University to 
commence July 1, 2015, subject to budgetary approval. The successful 
candidate will have completed all the requirements for a Ph.D. in 
Mathematics or a related discipline by the start date, and have a file 
that provides documentation of excellence (or, for very junior candidates, 
the promise of excellence) in both research and teaching. This candidate 
will also be suitable for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate 
Studies and be capable of, and willing to, assume a leadership role in the 
Department's actuarial program. The ideal candidate will be a Fellow of 
one of the following professional societies: Canadian Institute of 
Actuaries (CIA), Society of Actuaries (SoA), Casualty Actuarial Society 
(CAS), Faculty and Institute of Actuaries (FIA), or Institute of Actuaries 
of Australia (IAA). Candidates willing to commit to prompt achievement of 
Associate status, followed by Fellowship will also be considered.
