Prix 2015 CRM-Fields-PIMS Prize
APPEL À CANDIDATURES

Le Centre de recherches mathématiques (CRM), l'Institut Fields et le Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences (PIMS) sollicitent les candidatures pour le prix conjoint CRM-Fields-PIMS, remis pour souligner des réalisations exceptionnelles en sciences mathématiques. Les travaux de recherche du lauréat devront avoir été réalisés principalement au Canada ou en affiliation avec une université canadienne.

Le prix a été créé sous l'étiquette CRM-Fields en 1994. Il a été renommé CRM-Fields-PIMS en 2005 et est attribué conjointement par les trois instituts à partir de 2006. Les lauréats précédents ont été H.S.M. Coxeter, George A. Elliott, James Arthur, Robert V. Moody, Stephen A. Cook, Israel Michael Sigal, William T. Tutte, John B. Friedlander, John McKay, Edwin Perkins, Donald Dawson, David Boyd, Nicole Tomczak-Jaegermann, Joel Feldman, Allan Borodin, Martin Barlow, Gordon Slade, Mark Lewis, Stevo Todorcevic, Bruce Reed et Niky Kamran.

Le comité de sélection formé par les trois instituts choisira le lauréat du prix 2015 en s'appuyant sur les contributions exceptionnelles réalisées pour l'avancement des sciences mathématiques, avec l'excellence en recherche comme principal critère de sélection.

Un prix en argent sera remis au lauréat à qui on demandera de bien vouloir présenter une conférence à chacun des trois instituts.

Les nominations devront être soumises avant le 1er novembre 2014 et parrainées par au moins deux personnes renommées. Elles devraient inclure les éléments suivants: trois lettres d'appui, un curriculum vitae, la liste des publications et jusqu'à quatre prépublications. Les nominations demeureront actives pendant deux années. Lors d'une année académique, au plus un prix sera attribué.

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

The Centre de recherches mathématiques (CRM), the Fields Institute, and the Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences (PIMS) invite nominations for the joint CRM-Fields-PIMS prize, awarded in recognition of exceptional research achievements in the mathematical sciences. The candidate's research should have been conducted primarily in Canada or in affiliation with a Canadian university.

The prize was established as the CRM-Fields prize in 1994. Renamed in 2005, the 2006 and later prizes are awarded jointly by all three institutes. Previous recipients are H.S.M. Coxeter, George A. Elliott, James Arthur, Robert V. Moody, Stephen A. Cook, Israel Michael Sigal, William T. Tutte, John B. Friedlander, John McKay, Edwin Perkins, Donald Dawson, David Boyd, Nicole Tomczak-Jaegermann, Joel Feldman, Allan Borodin, Martin Barlow, Gordon Slade, Mark Lewis, Stevo Todorcevic, Bruce Reed and Niky Kamran.

The selection committee formed by the three institutes will choose the recipient for the 2015 prize on the basis of outstanding contributions to the advancement of the mathematical sciences, with excellence in research as the main selection criterion.

A monetary prize will be awarded and the recipient will be asked to present a lecture at each of CRM, the Fields Institute, and PIMS.

Nominations should be submitted by November 1, 2014 by at least two sponsors of recognized stature, and should include the following elements: three supporting letters, curriculum vitae, list of publications, and up to four preprints. Nominations will remain active for two years. During any academic year, at most one prize will be awarded.
