The Canadian Mathematical Society (CMS) is pleased to announce that 
Kenneth R. Davidson from the University of Waterloo is the recipient of 
the 2014 CMS David Borwein Distinguished Career Award in recognition of 
his exceptional, broad, and continued contribution to mathematics. Ken 
Davidson will receive his award at the Society's 2014 Winter Meeting in 
Hamilton, Ontario.

The David Borwein Distinguished Career Award was established in 2004 to 
recognize individuals who have made a sustained outstanding contribution 
to the advancement of mathematics. David Borwein is a distinguished 
mathematician and former CMS Vice President. The first award was 
presented in 2006 and includes a sculpture donated by the Borwein Family.

La Société mathématique du Canada (SMC) est fière d'annoncer que Kenneth 
R. Davidson de l'Université de Waterloo est le lauréat 2014 du prix 
David-Borwein de mathématicien émérite pour l'ensemble d'une carrière, 
en reconnaissance de sa contribution exceptionnelle, étendue et soutenue 
aux mathématiques. Ken Davidson recevra son prix à la Réunion d'hiver 
2014 de la Société à Hamilton, en Ontario.

Créé en 2004, le prix David-Borwein de mathématicien émérite pour 
l'ensemble d'une carrière rend hommage à un mathématicien qui a fait une 
contribution exceptionnelle et soutenue à l'avancement des 
mathématiques. David Borwein est un mathématicien émérite et un ancien 
président élue de la SMC. Ce prix a été remis pour la première fois en 
2006 et comprend une sculpture, don de la famille Borwein.
