*Sponsors:* The Fields Institute for Research in Mathematical Sciences
and the University of Ottawa
*Location and dat*e: University of Ottawa, June 8--10, 2013
*Abstract:* Michel Waldschmidt, a pioneer of Transcendental Number
Theory, will receive an honorary doctorate from the University of Ottawa
on June 11, 2013. This three-day workshop celebrates Michel
Waldschmidt's work, gathering number theory researchers from the
Montreal-Toronto area. Some emphasis will be given to Diophantine
approximation, but many other areas of number theory will be
represented, ranging from algebraic to analytic number theory.
*Invited speakers:*

(Toronto),
Jing-Jing Huang (Toronto), Hershy Kisilevsky (Concordia), Claude
Levesque (Laval),
Ján Minác (Western), Kumar Murty (Toronto), Ram Murty (Queen's), Damien
