The Department of Mathematics at the University of Toronto, in
partnershipwith the CMS, is hosting the 2013 Canada Math Camp and as
such is inviting applications to fill the following positions for their
2013 Summer Camp
Program. This program will be held at the downtown campus of the
University of Toronto from July 27 - August 3. Applications from
acrossthe country are welcome as successful applicants will be provided
with room and board for the week.
*
**1. Onsite Coordinator*
The On-Site coordinator will be responsible for providing assistance
withprogramming and logistical aspects of the camp, including meetings
andpre-camp setup. They will also be responsible for assisting with
thesupervision of participants for various camp related activities
includingduring instruction time, day-trips and residence programs. As
this is a residence program, the position will require the candidate to
be present on campus for the week of July 27 August 3, 2013 including
staying in residence with the students for the duration of the camp.
The successful candidate will have previous camp coordination experience
and a background in Math and/or Science with a preference for candidates
with math competition experience. The position will be paid a rate of
$30/hr plus room and board for a total of 50 hours inclusive of
pre-camp and post-camp meetings and preparations. All successful
candidates will need to show proof of a valid police record check
(including vulnerable sector
screen).
*2. Program Leader (2 positions)*
These positions will be responsible for the development and
implementation of various Mathematics competition based lessons and
activities. They will also be responsible for liaising with various
departmental and faculty members to provide guest speakers and
additional activities to their programs. Program Leaders will be
required to be on-campus during the week of July 27 August 3, 2013
including staying in residence with the students for the duration of the
camp. There will also be time required for preparation of materials and
pre- and post- camp meetings. The successful candidates will have strong
skills in Mathematics and previous Mathematics competition experience.
Previous camp leadership experience is considered an asset. These
positions will be paid a rate of $25/hr plus room and board for a total
of 70 hours inclusive of pre-camp and post-camp meetings and
preparations. All successful candidates will need to show proof of a
valid police record check (including vulnerable sector screen).
*3. Residence Don (2 positions)*
These positions will be responsible for the development and
implementation of various residential activities, off-site trips and
extracurricular activities. They will also be responsible for
supervision of the participants in residence. Residence dons will be
required to be on-campus during the week of July 27 August 3, 2013
including staying in residence with the students for the duration of the
camp. There will also be time required for preparation of materials and
pre- and post- camp meetings. The successful candidates will have
previous experience in an over-night supervision in a camp setting. A
mathematics background would be preferred. These positions will be
paid a rate of $15/hr plus room and board for a total of 72 hours
including pre-camp and post-camp meetings and preparations. All
successful candidates will need to show proof of a valid police record
check (including vulnerable sector screen) and a valid First Aid certificate
