      Australian Mathematics Trust

The Australian Mathematics Trust (AMT) is seeking a new Executive
Director to continue and build on the excellent work of Professor Peter
Taylor who will retire at the end of 2012. 

The Trust is a highly successful national not-for-profit organisation
whose purpose is to enrich the teaching and learning of mathematics for
students of all levels of interest and aptitude . It conducts   the
Australian Mathematics Competition, and incorporates the Australian
Mathematics Olympiad and the Australian Informatics Olympiad Committees.
It also administers mathematical enrichment activities for Australian
and international students and publishes books and digitised materials
to support mathematical enrichment.

The incoming Executive Director will be enthusiastic about mathematics
and informatics, an able administrator and leader, strategic and
forward- looking in approach, collegial and inclusive, with excellent
communication skills, and keen to engage with volunteers, teachers,
government agencies, partners of the AMT, and the many participants in
its national and international competitions. 

The AMT is located in Canberra, within  the University of Canberra
precinct.

The successful candidate will have strategic thinking skills, the
ability to manage a business undertaking, good communication skills, and
a sound academic record in teaching and research sufficient to merit
appointment at  Professorial level at the University of Canberra.
