      PERMANENT SESSIONAL INSTRUCTOR POSITION AVAILABLE IN MATHEMATICS

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science invites applications
for a Permanent Sessional Instructor position in Mathematics commencing
January 1, 2012, subject to final budgetary approval.

The successful candidate will be expected to primarily teach
undergraduate and graduate level courses in Mathematics. Candidates
should have a Ph.D. in Mathematics and have relevant teaching
experience. All areas in Mathematics will be considered. A commitment to
quality teaching is essential. The position requires the candidate to be
able to teach in French and English.

The normal maximum teaching workload is twenty-four (24) credits of
which a maximum of nine (9) may be assigned in the Spring Session. There
are no obligations or expectations with respect to research or service
but nothing preludes a Permanent Sessional Lecturer from participating
in either activity voluntarily.

accepted until a nominee is found. *

A Member appointed to a Permanent Sessional Lecturer position without
establishment in at least twelve (12) credits at Laurentian University
shall have a probationary status of three (3) years.

      CHARGÉ DE COURS PERMANENT — DÉPARTEMENT DE MATHÉMATIQUES ET
      D'INFORMATIQUE

Le Département de mathématiques et d'informatique de l'Université
Laurentienne sollicite des candidatures à un poste de chargé de cours
permanent avec entrée en fonction le 1er janbier 2012. Ce poste est
soumis aux approbations budgétaires.

Le candidat ou la candidate devra d'abord enseigner des cours de
mathématiques au niveau du premier et deuxième cycle. Tous les candidats
devraient détenir un doctorat en mathématiques et avoir une expérience
pertinente en enseignement. Un engagement à l'enseignement de qualité
est essentiel. Le candidat ou la candidate devrait être capable
d'enseigner à la fois en français et en anglais.

La charge normale de travail en enseignement est de vingt-quatre (24)
crédits, dont un maximum de neuf (9) peut être confié au trimestre du
printemps. Bien qu'il n'y ait aucune attente ou obligation touchant la
recherche ou le service à la collectivité, les chargés de cours
permanents sont libres d'y participer volontairement.

La date limite pour recevoir les candidatures est *le septembre 30, 2011*.

Selon l'article 4.20.3, « Un membre nommé à un poste de Chargé de cours
permanent sans statut prioritaire pour au moins douze (12) crédits à
l'Université Laurentienne obtient une nomination à l'essai de trois (3)
ans ».
