The Department of Mathematics at Trent University invites applications for the following two instructor positions:

MATH 1050Y: A Non-Calculus-Based Introduction to Probability and Statistical Methods

Topics covered in this course include: Data summary, elementary probability, estimation, hypothesis testing, analysis of variance, regression, nonparametric methods. 

Duties include preparation and delivery of lectures and tutorials, preparing and grading assignments, tests, and a final examination, compiling and submitting final grades.

Starting Date and Duration: Fall and Winter Sessions September 2010 - April 2011

Salary: $11,361.50 + 4% vacation pay

Location: Trent University, Symons Campus, Peterborough

Qualifications Preferred: Ph.D. (preferred) or M.Sc. in Mathematics, or equivalent

MATH 1350H: Linear Algebra I - Matrix Algebra

Topics covered in this course include: Vectors, systems of linear equations, matrices, determinants, linear transformations, eigenvalues and eigenvectors.

Duties include preparation and delivery of lectures and tutorials, preparing and grading assignments, tests, and a final examination, compiling and submitting final grades.

Starting Date and Duration: Fall Session September 2010 - December 2010

Salary: $5,680.50 + 4% vacation pay

Location: Trent University, Symons Campus, Peterborough

Qualifications Preferred: Ph.D. (preferred) or M.Sc. in Mathematics, or equivalent
