Description:
The Department of Mathematics, Physics, and Engineering invites 
applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level 
that will commence August 15, 2010. Mount Royal is seeking dynamic 
candidates with a focus on teaching and learning, and an interest in 
research, scholarly pursuits, and service.

The successful applicant will be teaching introductory and senior level 
courses in mathematics, and general education courses.  The department is 
looking for enthusiastic individuals who are interested in integrating 
technology into their teaching and are committed to participating in 
department activities. Course and programme development will also be 
expected.

New faculty are hired into one of two work patterns.  The 
teaching/scholarship/service pattern has a focus on teaching with the 
requirement that the faculty member be involved in a research program as 
well as service to the Mount Royal community.  The teaching/service 
pattern has a focus on teaching and service only.  There is an option to 
change work patterns after tenure.  Applicants interested in the 
teaching/scholarship/service pattern should have the ability and intent to 
pursue a research program.  Since opening in 1910, Mount Royal has

A Ph.D. in mathematics is required.  Preference will be given to 
candidates in applied mathematics, in particular, mathematical biology or
