[cmath] PIMS Undergraduate Algebra Summer School 2009

This is a call for applications to the

	PIMS Undergraduate Algebra Summer School

taking place May 25 to June 4, 2009 at the

	University of Alberta in Edmonton.

The summer school is targeted at *undergraduate* students in pure
mathematics, in particular those in their second or third year. Please forward this
information to anyone who you think might be interested.

The aim of the school is to expose undergraduate students at an early
stage in their academic life to advanced concepts in algebra, the focus
being on select topics in algebraic geometry, Lie theory, and number
theory. The school features special lectures by

	Georgia Benkart (U of Wisconsin).

Other lectures will be given by local faculty in our algebra group
(see the web page below for a complete list of speakers).

The event is sponsored by the Pacific Institute for the Mathematical
Sciences. There is funding available for participants.
