ASSISTANT PROFESSOR in MATHEMATICS
The Faculty of Science at the University of Calgary invites applications
for two tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level in the
Department of Mathematics and Statistics, beginning July 1, 2008. The
Department is seeking outstanding candidates in one of the following
fields:
Algebraic Topology. Candidates with expertise in homotopy theory are
particularly encouraged to apply.
Mathematical Finance. Candidates in this field are expected to have
expertise which will support the Mathematical and Computational Finance
Laboratory. Please visit http://finance.math.ucalgary.ca for more

Duties include undergraduate and graduate teaching in mathematics and the
development of an independent research program. Candidates must have a
Ph.D. The ideal candidate will have a strong record of mathematical
research, good communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to teach
effectively at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
