Tenure-Track Position in Mathematical Modeling
The Department of Mathematics & Statistics in the College of Arts and
Science at the University of Saskatchewan invites applications for a
tenure-track position in the area of Mathematical Modeling (code: AP08) at
the Assistant Professor level effective July 1, 2008.
The department is seeking an individual who has established
accomplishments, outstanding promise of research, and who is actively
engaged in the practice of mathematical modeling. Applicants must have a
doctoral degree. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence or
promise of excellence in teaching and graduate supervision, and will be
expected to develop a vigorous, externally-funded research program. For

The College of Arts & Science offers a dynamic combination of programs in
the humanities and fine arts, the social sciences and the sciences.
There are over 8,000 undergraduate and graduate students in the College
and 325 faculty, including 12 Canada Research Chairs. The College
emphasizes student and faculty research, interdisciplinary programs,
community outreach and international opportunities.
The University of Saskatchewan is located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, a

Application material must include the candidate's Curriculum Vitae and
list of publications. Applicants should also arrange for at least three
letters of reference to be sent directly from their referees. At least
one letter of reference should include a detailed comment on the teaching
abilities of the applicant. Candidates are also encouraged to supply a
research statement and a teaching statement. Candidates must include a
cover letter specifying that they are applying for position code AP08 and
indicate if they are a Canadian citizen/permanent resident.
