Actuarial Science
The Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences at the
University of Alberta invites applications for a tenure-track position at
the Assistant Professor level in Actuarial Science. Under exceptional
circumstances, appointments at higher level would be considered. We are
looking for a candidate with a PhD degree, strong research record,
excellent communication and teaching skills, and leadership potential. We
offer an excellent research environment with a normal teaching load of
three courses per year.
Preference will be given to candidates who are Associates or Fellows of
the Society of Actuaries, but we will also consider candidates who have
nearly completed the requirements of the Associateship.
Applications should include a curriculum vitae and a teaching profile
outlining experience and/or interest. Candidates should arrange for at
least three confidential letters of reference to be sent to the Chair at
