BC Institute of Technology invites applications for the following two
positions:

INSTRUCTOR
MATHEMATICS DEPARTMENT
SCHOOL OF COMPUTING AND ACADEMIC STUDIES

BCIT's Mathematics Department invites applications for temporary full-time 
or part-time (daytime) Instructor positions.  The successful candidates 
will be primarily responsible for the delivery of Statistics and 
Mathematics taught to students in Engineering or Computer Systems 
Technology or Health Science Programs.  Other duties will include 
curriculum development and review, peer and student evaluation, 
administrative duties, project proposals, student advising, and technology 
liaison.  These positions are contingent on funding approval.

Expected Qualifications/Qualities:
* Content expertise
   * Graduate degree in Mathematics/Statistics, Physics or Engineering preferred
   * Work experience in Engineering, Health Science or related fields
* Teaching experience, preferably post-secondary with full course responsibility
* Understanding of various learning styles and teaching strategies
* Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language
* Strong organizational and time management skills
* Success at initiating, executing and following up on projects
* Proficiency with MS Office, Internet, voice and e-mail
* Computer programming experience desirable
* Professional attitudes which stress commitment, responsibility for professional growth, open-mindedness, flexibility
* Ability to accept feedback, handle conflict and motivate others
* Team player

SALARY RANGE:		$44,912 to $76,939 per annum

OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
SCHOOL OF BUSINESS

BCIT's Operations Management and Information Technology Department may 
have temporary, full-time and part-time positions for Instructors in the 
areas of Business Mathematics and Quantitative Methods.  We are seeking 
Instructors who are committed to quality and innovation in meeting our 
students' learning needs and who value the importance of teamwork in the 
workplace.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Master's degree 
* Appropriate and current experience involving the application of the subject area 
* Ability to teach in Business Statistics and two of the following subject areas:
   * Math of Finance
   * Quantitative Methods
   * Math Models for Business
   * Calculus
* Experience teaching in a post-secondary institution
* Ability to work in a collegial environment as a member of a Faculty Team

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office (especially spreadsheets)
* Ability to teach in one of the following subject areas:
   * Computer Applications
   * Operations Management - industrial engineering/quality management
   * Project Management
   * ERP
* Membership or certification in appropriate professional bodies
