NSERC UNIVERSITY FACULTY AWARD POSITION IN MATHEMATICS

WILFRID LAURIER UNIVERSITY

The Department of Mathematics at Wilfrid Laurier University is seeking to 
nominate a candidate for a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research 
Council of Canada (NSERC) University Faculty Award (UFA) for the Fall 2006 
competition. These awards are directed toward women and Aboriginal peoples 
in science and engineering. (See

A successful candidate will be appointed as a regular tenure-track faculty 
member at the Assistant Professor level starting July 1, 2007, conditional 
upon acceptance into the UFA program and being awarded an NSERC Discovery 
Grant. Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree at the time of appointment and 
a proven research record. The chosen candidate is expected to develop an 
innovative research program and be committed to excellent teaching at both 
the undergraduate and graduate levels. The candidate's research may be in 
any field of mathematics, but areas that can support our graduate program 
in Mathematics for Science and Finance are particularly encouraged.

Applicants should submit a complete curriculum vitae, a five-year research 
plan (1-2 pages in length), a short statement of teaching interests, and

women and Aboriginal peoples. Candidates from these groups are encouraged 
to self-identify. We encourage applicants who have had career delays 
associated with family responsibilities. In accordance with NSERC 
requirements, applicants must be a Canadian citizens or permanent 
residents of Canada as of the NSERC nomination deadline date (November 1, 
2006).
