Dear Colleague,
We kindly remind you that the deadline to submit contributions to the
International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM2006) is March 30th, 2006.
Contributions may be proposed by registered participants in the form of short
communications, posters or mathematical software presentations. Abstracts have
to be submitted to the Local Program Committee through the Congress website
before March 30th. The Local Program Committee will notify authors of
acceptance or rejection of their contribution before May 30th. Abstracts of
accepted contributions will be published in the abstract book of the Congress.
SHORT COMMUNICATIONS
Short communications should be presented orally within up to 20 minutes,
including discussion. Rooms for short communications are equipped with an
overhead projector. Further instructions and a submission form are available at
http://www.icm2006.org/scientificprogram/shortcommunications/.
POSTERS
Poster sessions provide pleasant interaction between colleagues, allowing
discussions in an informal and relaxed atmosphere. The Local Program Committee
strongly recommends scientific contributions in the form of posters and
encourages participation in the POSTER COMPETITION.
Information on the Poster Competition is given at
http://www.icm2006.org/imgs/congresos/13.11.05%20UKpostercomprules.pdf
and further details about submission of poster abstracts can be found at
http://www.icm2006.org/scientificprogram/postersessions/.
MATHEMATICAL SOFTWARE
The main purpose of the sessions on mathematical software is to give an
overview of the state of the art on software topics, highlighting current
research and its main developments.
Sessions will be devoted to presenting mathematical software systems or
mathematical applications, either of general scope or focused on particular
areas. Implementations of especially designed algorithms solving mathematical
research problems of interest are also welcome. Mathematical originality, new
solutions to relevant problems, or unusual fields of application will be
greatly appreciated.
This is a scientific section of the Congress with no commercial aim. Further
details about the submission procedure can be found at
http://www.icm2006.org/scientificprogram/mathematicalsoftware/.
REGISTRATION
We encourage you to register for the ICM2006 if you have not done so yet, and
to keep visiting the Congress website for updated information. Notice that the
deadline for regular regular registration is May 15th.
We look forward very much to welcoming you in Madrid from August 22nd to 30th,
2006.
